Hello All,
It was 27 below zero this morning, actual temperature, when I woke up. I am in the process of moving and many of the integral health constructs are put to the test as the frigid cold rips through the gloves and hat while carrying thousands of pounds of weight plates and equipment from the vehicle to the house. However, faltering was not an option, and now I am able to cozily type about the endeavor :)
I hope everyone else is able to stay warm!

Snow and More Snow
I think the ice fishing season will be here this weekend with high temperatures in the mid- to upper-teens and lows in the single digits to close out the week. However, this snow is really posing an issue as it is a terrible insulation to whatever ice there already is formed. It has been snowing for about 4 hours so far and there is no end in sight. The flakes are just huge. I guess my integral health for tomorrow is going to be shoveling about 10-15 inches of snow. Hopefully we will get less so then my spirit will be lifted :)

Fish Weight
I am not really sure how much it weighed or even how long it was, but my guess is about 18-19" and 3.5-3.75 pounds. I usually don't get too caught up with the weights and inches as much as I do with food values and respect for the fish that provides me sustenance:) My wife is usually the one who weighs them and measures them, and of course, insists on pictures:)

No carvings lately
Hi Everyone,
No carvings lately as I have been focusing on scouting for the fall fishing season and taking others out fishing for their enjoyment. I have started a crappie and will certainly post it when I get a chance.
Take care!

Upcoming Carving
I am currently working on a muskie that is 33 inches long and will post a picture if it turns out like expected. It took 3 hours between Friday night and Saturday morning just to draw the lines on it before I wood burn it. The push to get it done is on as I will be in a wood carver's festival on July 31st. What is most interesting about the entire endeavor is not the fact that I am actually learning a great way to improve my integral health for myself, but that I am going to this festival to honor the man who actually started it (my wife's grandfather). He is 89 years old and has been carving for 35 years and really has been an inspiration. My only goal from the event is that he is proud of me--that is really all that matters. I don't even care if I sell anything.

The Aisles are Full
One of the most common methods that I have implored to talk about how well or how poorly the fish are biting is through code. I might say something like, "I went to the Oak Grocery and the selections were pretty limited" to indicate a poor fishing day. However, things have gone extraordinarily well over the past week with limits of crappies and northerns being procured. Pretty awesome time 0f year to live in Northern Minnesota:)

June 2009 Muskie Picture

This is a muskie I caught last summer. It was in the low 50's which was very cold and the fish was in like 2 feet of water. Being by myself was a trick to get the beast in the boat. Excuse the dirt and slime and grime if you can but this was truly a day of integral health development for me as I felt a complete contentedness with the wind, waves, and loons. Very cool business!

Wicked Cold
Although the temps have risen into the upper 20's from their negative marks last week, the fish seem to have remained in the negative for consuming my baits. After a 20 minute walk today, I drilled 5 holes, fished for 2 hours and ended up catching 2 tiny perch. A front was moving in as I arrived with 15+ mile per hour winds blowing at my back. Initially I thought, "what am I doing here?" but I realized how soothing freezing, howling winds can be when we are dressed warm enough. The howling almost brings about a sense of musical self. No fish for supper, but another great experience in the Northland.
