Here is my bass that I finished over July 4th weekend. Estimated 35-40 hours over the last couple of weeks as I worked on it whenever I had an hour or so to get it done.

  1. Excellent job, you're very talented! I really like the details and finish on the scales as well as the first dorsal fin.

I used to do oil paintings... scenic stuff, still-life, and portraits. I enjoyed doing realism... Everyone says I should get back into it but I suppose I need to make the time first.

    Great inspiration to do so!

  2. Wow, that is just beautiful! I am so amazed you made that wood like a real fish! Wonderful skill and workmanship! Are you going to make a business out of this and sell them? You should. I bet it could make you some extra bucks. My Grandmother is an avid fisherwoman. She recently had a contest with my cousin Lewis, and she caught 2 more fish than he did. He is an avid fisherman too. HA LOL. I got a big kick
out of that! She is 88. My Grandmother would love to see this fish you carved. She lives in SC. Very nice hobby you have on the side of all the other things you do! Great work!

  3. He is truly remarkable! What detail. I love carved fish and ducks. Impressive. I hope he goes to a good home where they can appreciate him daily. Love the crab too.

  4. I am still learning and probably will for the rest of my life. It really brings about the transformative process that we talk about in terms of getting in touch with our calm inner-selves. I just wish I had discovered my interest in wood working before this year (March) due to its effectiveness. I do appreciate your kind words!

    Thanks again!

  6. Hi LT,

Thank you for your kind words. The course is absolutely enjoyable on my end as well as the progressions that are seen with everyone is truly awesome. I love it when I am able to share some things that I have found to be effective as well as new methods to improve overall well-being whenever I get a chance.

The privilege felt to be a member of this class is mutual!:)

    Take care,

    Mark

  7. Hi Mark,
I have never been in a class with so many people who are so self reflextive of themselves as you guys!!! The work is alot and hard for me, this is not my only class;however, I would not want to miss this class for any thing. This class reminds me of a story of me and God on a tandem bike, I only knew certain streets and avenues when I was in the front seat driving but I heard him say "let me drive and you just sit back and paddle". This is a short version of the story but I hope you get what I am trying to say...:o)LT
