Early Winter
The leaves have fallen, the cold has not embraced, but instead has placed its unrelenting hold upon us. It would appear as though we are unable to have a fall full of crappie fishing as was the case in years past. Going from 75 degrees to 40 for the highs has diminished all possibilities of good fishing:<

Fall Is Upon Us
In northern Minnesota, it seems as though fall is upon us. Fish of all species are feeding voraciously, with panfish, walleyes, and bass becoming the most readily available. It seems as though spring has passed immediately to fall in this part of the country, and I am loving every minute it. The air is fresh, cool, and with minimal humidity. Bugs are few and far between and fish are plentiful.

Blame it on the Rain
It appears that the rains of incessant proportion have taken the fish away. There are no northerns, muskies, crappies, bluegills or largemouths. It seems that the only fish that will bite as of late due to all of the weather issues is catfish. And even they are not biting well. Hopefully the warm weather will return once again.

Have the Bassst Day of Your Life
As I sit here with my sore shoulder, I find that I yearn to fish for what I consider the most prestigious fish that swims--the smallmouth bass. There is just something about the fight, the unrelenting will, and swimming away that makes an entire trip worth while. Just seeing one these brutes is worth the trip.

Crappies have come and gone
Although the fishing is wonderful this time of year, it seems as though the crappies in my favorite spring fishing spot is emptied. With that said, it would be tough for me to have a crappie day.
